A bird I don't see bc I'm following its shadow - Rachael Wolfe (Lincoln, Nebraska)
Loon river
This makes that version
Filled with longing
Robins run across my roof
The wind picks up
And at this time of morning
Everything looks like vacation
The flower has shifted
To face me
The dogs are hanging out
This is a calm poem
Featuring periodic bursts of wind
This is the first nice morning
After the heat wave
My friend of Years is about to give birth
Another one carries a poppyseed
I’m surrounded by mothers
I dream I’m in bed
Reading a book with mine
