The garlic begins to sizzle
Adding onions makes it shizzle
and this aromatic marriage awakens our senses
Tossing in red, ripe romas
with a hint of fresh green spices
makes a sauce
worthy of topping naked pasta
Bumping elbows, stirring with care
A salty pinch here...
a peppery pinch there...
A patient simmer leads
to a natural hunger
Mmm...mmm...mmm,” I say with a wink
raising our glasses and hearing them clink
